Thai Pathumthani Fragrant Rice is a new strain of fragrant rice that was developed from two species of Thai rice at the Pathumthani Rice Institute in Thailand. The appearance and soft texture of Thai Pathumthani Fragrant Rice are similar to Hom Mali Rice. The grain size is shorter and stouter than Hom Mali Rice grain and its authentic natural fragrance is slightly different. Due to its characteristics, Thai Pathumthani Fragrant Rice is considered as the second type of Hom Mali Rice.
